Ever joke about having those “senior” moments… all of a sudden forget what you were just about to do-maybe second guess if you left the garage door open as your driving away? Ok-maybe that’s just me. The good news is that there is evidence that suggests that diet and lifestyle can help to keep your memory sharp.
Daily diet: RICH in vegetables, fruit and fiber; LOW in sugar, carbohydrates and saturated fat. Make sure you are getting enough vitamin D (fatty fish such as salmon, tuna and mackerel are the best sources).
Lifestyle: get enough sleep, lose excess pounds, exercise 30-60 minutes daily, monitor blood pressure*
* Normal blood pressure =Top number (systolic) 120 or below/Bottom number (diastolic) 80 or below.
