It’s Friday- Is happy hour your gateway drug to binging on the weekend? I ask because so often I hear….”well, I was good all week but then on the weekend I ate…”. The typical food “confessions” never include lean protein and vegetables right?
I understand – and catch myself in that mindset at times too. Weekends present so many opportunities for acceptable justifications and excuses to eat unhealthy food. It’s practically socially acceptable in fact. But are you un doing your good work by going with the weekend flow?
Most of functional nutrition isn’t quick fix dieting or anything extreme…it’s making lifestyle changes that create long term success toward whatever your goals might be. Binge eating or binge drinking- even on the weekend- is a roadblock to your success.
Binge eating and drinking wreaks havoc on your liver and digestive tract- not to mention stunting your metabolic burn in the process. Oh – and then there’s the regret, the bloat, the anxiety to punish your body with exercise or worse you actually consider the crazy cleanse you heard about at the nail salon!?
If you want to reward yourself for being good to your body during the week – why not do it with a massage this weekend? Maybe you decide to own your weekend choices- regardless of the situation? I wonder how much better your body will feel and how much better you will feel about yourself on Monday? It is your body, you get to make the choices.
You can do this. I am excited to hear about your results. Taking care of yourself feels so good.
