Turmeric-Cider Tonic

Turmeric-Cider Tonic:
Two power house nutrients combined in a nice sipper make this tonic tasty and anti inflammatory.  Apple cider vinegar helps with digestion and blood sugar stabilization (this means helps to decrease sugar cravings), turmeric has an anti-inflammatory benefit.

Maybe try this at the end of a meal for a semi sweet dessert or as a mid day moment to pause and breathe.

2 cinnamon sticks
1 1/4 cups unsweetened apple cider
1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar
1 (2-inch) piece fresh turmeric root, peeled and finely grated (ground can be substituted)
1 1/4 cups unsweetened plain almondmilk

Combine almondmilk, cider and turmeric in a small saucepan and vigorously whisk together. Add cinnamon sticks and bring just to a simmer. Lower heat to medium-low and simmer very gently for 2 minutes. (If mixture separates, whisk or stir to bring it back together.) Remove from heat and stir in vinegar. Strain into mugs and serve.
